Our wedding was a 2pm Saturay afternoon affair. We did send out official invites. And on the invites it said "Reception immediately following in the church reception hall" or something to that effect. In my circle of family and friends, no one has enough money to do a full meal anyway, so it was assumed to be cake and punch. However, I've seen invites worded "Cake and punch reception at ..." or "Refreshements served" or something like that. Our menu was wedding cake, groom's cake, punch, champagne for the bridal party (a splurge courtesy of my dad ... was a surprise for me!), nuts and mints.

Sounds like you have a plan started and it sounds great. Where on the East Cost? I used to live in Virginia Beach and its gorgeous. As is the Outer Banks of NC (lots of cozy beach cottages there.)

Anyway, hope I helped. We spent probably less than $5000 bucks on the whole wedding. And I don't regret for an instant that we didn't do something bigger or fancier.

Hollie
