13 in 1981? Good God, Cannabist! lol. j/k. I'm still a year away from the big 3-0. Whew! I'm actually planning on reading the entire thing, but I'm waiting till September. I'm headed to China to teach conversational English for a year. Funny how a 2nd world country offers me more than employers in my own country. Oh, well. I'm thinking I'll need some good reading to keep me occupied during downtime, so Frank Herbert wins. Actually, I guess his son wins since he's probably collecting the royalties now. I really liked both mini-series AND I'm a fan of the 84 movie, even if I'm the only one on the planet. Sure, the acting generally sucked, the special effects were only OK and the plot had holes a thousand miles wide, but it was entertaining none-the-less. Especially for 1984. What was it up against that year? Was it Satisfaction with Justine Bateman or something? lol. See, you just gotta put it in perspective to make it an awesome movie.
