早前到一位新相識朋友家中小坐，出來門口迎接的，赫然是「八頭犬」！──當然不是八個頭的狗啦，而真的是八隻狗呀！
這位朋友甚有愛心，八頭犬中，有兩頭是她友人出門旅遊暫時寄養在此的，另外六頭則全是她自己的寵物。這六隻狗品種不一，大小、年齡各異，但卻有一個共通點：牠們都是被人遺棄的寵物！有的是在她家附近發現的，有的則領養自「愛護動物協會」。
這些棄犬來到她家，不單止執番條命仔，而且仲從此好食好住，大可以安枕無憂、貽養天年。例如當中有隻叫做「Baby」的北京狗加魔天使混種犬，年齡已高達十七歲，口腔內已然沒有半隻牙，但仍然極度精神，活躍如一個聲大大的老太婆！另有一頭西施犬「波波」，雙目全瞎，但可以如盲俠般在屋內外四處活動，如常生活！這些「老弱殘犬」，如非遇上這位有愛心的主人，相信下場會相當淒慘。
日本有部著名的神話武俠小說叫做《里見八犬傳》（全名《南總里見八犬傳》，作者曲亭馬琴），講述八犬士對抗邪魔，保護主人。現實中，這是《我見八犬傳》，我見到一個主人在保護八隻狗！
