波子機，有兩種。一種是直立式波子機「柏青高」（Pachinco），流行於日本；另一種是座檯式波子機（Pinball Machine），流行於歐美和香港──應該說，曾經一度流行於香港。
我還在讀小學的年代，學校附近有一家保齡球場，內裏便附設波子機中心，有近二十檯機器。放學後，我們周不時穿着校服施施然入內，「煲機」一番；五毫子一局，有五粒波子，五次機會。
後來，桌球室的大行其道，直接影響了保齡球場的生意；而電子遊戲機（中心）的出現，也令波子機走上絕路。隨着電子遊戲穖的「一蚊一局」，後期波子機也加價到一元一局，波子卻減為得三粒。但話說回來，電子遊戲機的「三次機會 Game Over」規則概念，肯定是從波子機演化出來的。
近年波子機在香港幾乎絕迹，但在歐美依然有它的天地。除了在酒吧、賭場、遊戲機中心等場所可以找到波子機外，就連我就讀大學的學生中心，也會放幾部供人娛樂。
現在香港人想玩波子機，只能寄情於電腦之中的虛擬波子機，那是多麼冇癮、沒勁的一件事！（《絕種東西系列》之五）
