Subject: #54 - Does anyone's child play golf, or do you? (m)

Ryan has been playing golf since he could walk. At 12 months old he took my plastic spoons, and instead of playing drums with them (as I expected), he took to swinging them like golf clubs at whatever object he could whack. Well, we got him a set of plastic clubs shortly thereafter. We never had to explain what to do with them, he just did it. Dh and I are NOVICE golfers. By that I mean, I have been a few (less than 10) times in my life. I don't know what I am doing.

The kid loves to golf. He has worn blisters on his hands because he has done it for hours at a time. We got him real clubs when he was about 2 1/2 He has outgrown those and needs a new set. Are there any especially good ones for 6-8 year olds? I don't expect that anyone here will know this, I am just hoping.

We found a pro who will teach him, and seems really nice and great. Unforunately my child had to fall in love with the most expensive sport! It is hard enough to find places that will let him play, let alone teach him, and pay for it. I don't know. Advice, suggestions? How much should I pay for lessons? And I thought piano was expensive.

Please tell me there is someone here with some experience with this!

Heidi
