*** Farming and Farm Rights ***
It is finally possible to grow foods again, either for your own household or to sell. Mazaloom Farmers' Association secures that the total produce of the region won't exceed the needs and Simmerville has been given a quota that equals to full farming produce of 6 lots. The region supports locally grown food in order to reduce pollution and wasted resources.

It takes 5 Farm Rights to run a farm with unlimited produce. In Simmerville 4 lots already have 5 Farm Rights, but a Farmers' Lottery on simday 65 will be a great chance for everyone to win some rights.

Read more about farming here.

*** The Pets Deal ***
We will sign the Pets Deal on our simday 66. We recommend households to prepare for the arrival of a new pet:
- Fence in your garden. To keep a dog you should provide some space outdoors where it can run about without chasing cars and deliveries. As part of our ongoing Hood Beautifying project, we will give §1000 to each household on simday 65. The money must be spent on fencing in minimum 25 ground tiles of your outdoors. If you have a pool in your garden, it should be fenced in to avoid neighbours and strays falling into it and drown. If you already got a fence, the money can be spent on trees and shrubs.
- Set aside some money. Buying a pet will cost about §700-§5000. In addition you will need to buy appliances and pet foods. A new pet shop will oon open at 13 New Simmer Lane, operated by local teenager Oliver Mervil-Rose.
No pet taxes are planned for Simmerville at this point.
- Read up on animal interests. The magazine can be bought on several locations, including the Hood Administration centre.

*** New builds accepted ***
The number of local residential lots has not been increased in a very long time. The Hood Council has now opened for building on any existing residential lot, but the owner will need 5 Build Rights. We will hand out one right to each lot owner on simday 65. These rights can be traded (§1000 per right) or kept for later. If you like to sell your 1 right, do contact any of the residents who owns a lot that is not yet built on. They are Bart Gobelin, Sophelia Mervil, Brigar Goth and Alovar A. Mervil.
