Subject: Community Discussion - family restrictions?

 I'm not sure this is the right forum, but couldn't find any better.

Our local Hood Council has discussed family policies. Our hood is now 29 simdays into the new dimension, and most Sims who arrived as children have now established their own families and are having children.

Our concern is the larger families. Should we restrict how many households can have the same family name? Everyone knows that varity is good both when it comes to surnames and DNA. Here are examples:
Family A has 7 grandchildren carrying the familyname.
Family B has 6 grandchildren carrying the familyname.
Even if some of these will marry into other families there might be as many as 4-5 related households with similar surname. We hesitate any restrictions, but how do others deal with it? Would a restriction of 3 households be too tough?
