So, not so many households share the same surname. Other than that, Simmotonian families aren't used to have many babies. Not that is prohibited, many sims, for several reasons choose to have just one or two babies. My wife and I, for instance, have chose to have a third child to try for a boy, since my other two were girls, so the family name would go to the next generation.
