Emily was the daughter of Thomas Hancorn & Margaret Williams, who were married in the Parish Church, Abergavenny in 1851. They now lie buried ay Drybrook, near Cinderford. Thomas was the grandson of Samuel Hancorn and Catherine Bowen of Whitney-on-Wye,Herefordshire. This Samuel was himself the grandson of John Hancorn of Clifford and his wife Mary Hancorne of Whitney-on-Wye. Richard Hancorne, the father of this Mary, was of Millhalf in Whitney, and left an interesting will in 1704. See Hereford Family History Society Journal. Vol. VII No. 2, pp 56-60 - July 1998 etc
