Hi Jamie. Yes it was Sharon Morgan though I really can't remember Anne's surname though she married a chap called Billy as she met him when we were young and I did keep in touch for awhile though over the years lost contact. I lived on top of the mountain area and we had to walk down about 100 steps to get to Annes place though Sharon lived in a nice house on a street not like in mass housing where I lived. Where was Powell Street?? I lived with my grandparents (Bond) on a street though I can't remember the name for a little while then moved down to Vivian Street in Abertillery till Dad got this shire house. Not much to go on I know. Did I know you?? Cheers Debbie

Re: Hello from Australia. From your description, I think you may have lived in the 'new' or 'upside-down' houses on the east side of Cwmtillery ... was there a farm at the top of the housing estate? Powell St is futher down the valley towards town. At the top end of the street is Gelli Crug school and at the bottom end is the Workingman's Institute (or 'Stute). If memory serves, you lived for a while, halfway up the street in an end of terrace house? A boy called Paul Trigg (Trigger) ... who at that time, sported a brilliant David Bowie (Alladin Sane) haircut, (if anyone knows him don't tell him I told you!) ... Can't say I remember the other people you mentioned ... mind you this was quite a while ago;) We're the same age, so obviously we were in the same year in Nantyglo, though I doubt we actually met. The way I remember it, most girls of 14-16 were far more interested in older boys ... fools! Quick question; what's a shire house? If you want to see photos of Aber from the 70s, have a look at the catergories on the left as you look at this site's 'home' page, infact I think there's a link to the Cwmtillery site ... well worth a look!
