While I sympathize with your situation, you are no different than anyone else these days - look around you. Who is getting yearly raises of 6% or more? How many people not working for TWU have full medical benefits covered without paying anything towards it? How many people are getting full pension benefits at age 55? Then, your average salaries are in the $50,000 range? Tell me please - what exactly are the educational requirements for a transit worker job? Anything more than a high school diploma - if even that? There's something you do that you are uniquely qualified for?

If the Mayor and Governor wanted to do right by New Yorkers, they should have had the balls to do to your union what Reagan did to the air traffic controllers and fired every last one of you. You called an illegal strike, you were warned not only by the Mayor but also the courts. You knowingly broke the law and though you may go back to work shortly, hopefully the Mayor and the courts will have the strength to make every fine stick that's been given out to you individually (that's $25,000 per day for you - we'll see who's crying) and your union ($1 million a day).

You and your union need a good reality check.
