 Hey! Leave Joan alone! She's a smart woman! She doesn't want to be part of a sinking ship, thats why she's leaving!
Also we should take into account Paul Rauch's departure, since MADD is now acting-EP, maybe Joan doesn't want to
work for her, and who can blame Joan?!

GL is in a unique position. Its not often a soap has a vacant EP and HW position at the same time. For decades a problem at GL (and other soaps) has been the battle of visions from EPs and HWs, with every new HW or EP, the show changes. If MADD is smart, she will make damned sure the
next EP and HW agree completly on the creative direction for the show. This is truly GL's last chance! Some time from now, we'll look back at this point in time and either say, this is when GL got its act together or this was the start of the end (much like the Goutman/Laiman pairing at AW). The choice belongs to MADD.
