I would have to agree completely CC. the CBS line-up is like comfort food for a lot of long-time fans and even for newer ones. ABC, to be fair, has kept it's same three-hour block as well and had some impressive periods with it. They've only struggled with one 30 minute timeslot. There's a lot to be said about TV viewing traditions like growing up with your family members watching certain shows and then continuing on to college and finding others who have done the same. Let's not forget that CBS's Price is Right has been a long standing tradition as well. ABC's The View has been very successful for their lineup. NBC hasn't kept ANYTHING on the air in it's whole lineup except for Days which has so radically changed that it's hard to imagine that it's the same show. NBC daytime doesn't feel comfortable; nothing ever stays the same. They have so many holes that there isn't even a consistency in the lineup between markets because the affiliates have no confidence in NBC daytime and they fill up with syndicated shows instead. And their latest teen-related strategy is failing too. Days has declined and Passions has never really caught on.

Over the years they really needed to nuture their shows instead of going for all the quick fixes which did nothing but piss off the fans and, of course, doom the shows. Had they left Santa Barbara alone, it would still be on the air. Had they not tinkered with AW year after year, it would still be on the air. NBC had the daytime versions of Wheel of Fortune, Hollywood Squares and Jeopardy and let those shows wither away too. Let's add more to your list of NBC-cancelled shows....

Later Today
Leeza
Search For Tomorrow
The Doctors
Somerset
Texas
Lovers and Friends
Hollywood Squares/Match Game Hour

I'm sure that I've missed others. So, as you can see, NBC has really been the standout in daytime turnover and failure. Aside from Days in the 80's and then again briefly in the 90's, has there been any real ratings powerhouse in all of NBC daytime?
