As my father was a serviceman in WWII, we moved into a GI Housing development in Canarsie in the late 1940's. It was composed of Quonset huts and wooden buildings. I was a very small child and only went to kindergarten before we moved away. I would like to know more about the development and have never been able to find out anything. Does anyone have any information on this at all? I would so appreciate hearing from you. All I remember is shopping on Ave.L with my mother, a large park, and a Catholic Church not too far away. My dad took the subway into lower Manhattan to work at P & J Die Company. Thank you for any information you can give me!! CKehrley

I just read one of the previous messages and My Grandmother used to live on Glenwood road and I woud visit from time to time even hungout there a few timesI dont think I know any of the poeple mentioned.I know the neighborhood has changed since.I just recently found this site and outside of the online bashing its pretty interesting.I wonder how things worked out for all the kids who hungout there hope all is well,dont remember names its been a while maybe 15-20 years wow! were has time gone.

I was wondering what happened to the kid's of Ave. L, like Paul Magliocco, Mike Calabrese, Mike Gonzalez, Timmy Lynch, Anthony Caretelli, Anthony Rinaldi, Sal Botz, etc...
And the girls, like Maria Russo, Tara Rosen, Dawn Lynch, Nicole and Christina Madolini, Kim Padula, Melissa Dapice,Dana Cooper.
I live out in Central Jersey and work in NYC. I turned 30 recently. It would be nice to know how everybody is doing.
