I remember the hardware store, and definitely the record store on Avenue L. I believe a fellow by the name of Leroy worked there. I also remember Lerner's. I went to school with Philip Lerner, whose father owned the store. There are so many memories of Canarsie. I lived there from 1948 through 1977. If things were like it used to be, I would move back there in a heartbeat. I lived on E. 94th between Avenues M & N. Do you remember the liquor store on Avenue L between E 94 & 95? My uncle Willie worked there. Well, thanks for the memories. If you think of anymore, let me know.
Thank you.
