Subject: Who came first'

Im from Canarsie 1974 grad chs.I just read the part of this webpage wher people from the 40s look for friends .Its wierd cause they describe a cAnarsie that I never knew.One guy says the old park where he played during his childhood in canarsie in the 40s was destroyed later when we he was in his 20s to put up a block of houses.That new block was my block. His childhood places from the 40s were bulldozed down to build my block. I never imagined that 10 yrs before I was born there were teenage kids in Canarsie playing ball in the very spot where my block would be built.I recall SSHS when it was a big lot Kids plAYED there too Im sure.Then a school was built there in 1970.Breakin some bodies heart.I guess there was a time when even my house wasnt there but there were kids there playing. Maybe sad to revisit in 61 what for them was "the old neighborhood" and find their place gone to make room for what today was my place.WOW. the 40s .
