Subject: APPLEBY/PEARSON Co Durham

My husband's gggrandparents were Richard PEARSON and ? APPLEBY. Their son, my husband's ggrandfather, was William PEARSON m: Rose ROBINSON. My husband's grandfather was their son, William PEARSON b: 23 Jun 1903 2 The Folds Colliery Row Houghton-le-Spring Co Durham d: 1988 Fallbrook California m: Mildred Pauline BAIRD abt. 1925 Columbus Kansas.
Grandpa's father died (one month to the day before he was born) from influenza and "phthisis" (whatever that is). My sister-in-law has the original, certified copy of his father's death certificate, which lists F.W. APPLEBY (uncle) as the "imformant" with his residence being at 16 Front St. Colliery Row Houghton-le-Spring Co Durham. No other records or papers pertaining to the family in England is known to exist.
Grandpa was brought to the U.S. by his mother when he was 2 yrs. old and all track of his family in England was lost. We have been unable to find out the first name of my husband's gggrandmother. All we have for reference is a handwritten note with the names I've given above and no further information, except that which I've mentioned from the death certificate. Does anybody have an APPLEBY/PEARSON connection in their family's history? Thank you for any assistance you may be able to give me.
