- Thomas Appleby -- Yve, 03:53:50 02/24/01 Sat
Hi,
I've recently found information on a Thomas Appleby who owned land in Jamaica West Indies.
There are also some Appleby's in the Jamaican phone directory but other than that I haven't been able to find anything thing else on that name.
I don't know if there are any lineage between him and the Aplleby's of the USA.
My grandfathers mother's maiden name was (I beleive) Appleby or Apllebee. She married into the Beeput family.
I haven't been able to find any information (in the 1700 or 1800)on either last name.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

- Joseph and Harriet APPLEBY of Bethnal Green -- Sue Mastel, 18:14:21 07/23/05 Sat
still hunting birth and parents of Joseph Appleby in about 1821/22 in Bethnal Green (according to censuses, marriage cert and death cert). Joseph was a tin plate worker and said on his marriage cert to Harriet Nay on Christmas Day in 1843 in Hackney that his father was Charles Appleby, wheelwright. However, there were 16 or so couples married at St John's that day, so I am starting to wonder if father's name wrongly entered. Have checked all parish records for Bethnal Green churches at LMA, but cannot find his birth.
any help would be really gratefully received.

- William Appleby b abt 1839 MD -- Nancy Hamilton, 01:04:37 04/06/01 Fri
I am looking for any information on the William Appleby who married Antonia (Tonie) Baumgaertner in Feb 1878 in Giddings Texas. In 1870, Wm 31 b. Md was living with Thos Hammond 21 b NY a restaurant keeper in Waco, TX. Later he may have been a butcher in Giddings TX. From a letter I have, it appears that William Appleby had 2 sisters, Lizzie and Ella, who had lived in NY and later in or near Giddings. I can find no other trace of them. After marrying Tonie, William had various financial problems, and went to Poncha Springs CO, where he was postmaster and ran a general store. Evidently, poor health forced him to go to California where he died in San Diego in 1899. He and Tonie had 3 daughters, Carrie Appleby (Mrs. George) Vann b. 1883, Annie Appleby (Mrs. John) Mundlein b. 1886 and Mary Wilhelmina Appleby b. 1896. The Mundleins left 3 children -- Marie (Huff), Jack and Blanche (Dougherty).
I am editing a 50-year series of diaries left by Tonie's sister Annie Baumgaertner Rousseau of Giddings Texas. I would appreciate information on William Appleby's family and descendants.

- DUNCAN APPLEBY -- GAVIN BOAZ, 00:40:25 02/21/05 Mon
I'm trying to trace a very good friend I lost contact with about thirty years ago. Born in the UK about 1950'ish, his name is Duncan Appleby. He used to live in Bexley, Kent in the 1970's, then moved to Little Offley in Hertfordshire when he married his fiancee, Anne Hodgeson/Hodgson and worked for her fathers' company which I believe was called Hodgeson/Hodgson Building Contractors. They had a daughter, Hayley. Thirty years on, I would dearly like to contact Duncan. He was the first person I truly respected and admired and it's a sort of 'loose end' not knowing where he is, how he is and how his life has been. Please help!!

- William, Benjamin & George APPLEBY -- Mary Trace, 05:22:50 03/13/01 Tue
Have been searching many years for these three brothers, all sons of William APPLEBY & Sarah BRUCE. William b.1821, Boxted; Benjamin, bc1826 ?Boxted/Lexden area & George, b.1834 Boxted, all Essex, England. Benjamin and George last found on the 1841 Census of Lexden. William never located on any census. Siblings include: Sarah Ann (WOODGATE), Caroline (KEARNS) & Marshall.
I have a photo of "Uncle APPLEBY" so at least we know one lived to maturity. Family story goes he was involved with sheep and the rest of the family expected to inherit money! Instead it went to widow and her children, whom he apparently married later in life.
We have search civil registration for a marriage to no avail. We wonder if he might have emigrated to AUS OR NZ.
If you are connected to any of these people in anyway, or if something rings a bell, I would love to hear from you.
Mary
Alberta, Canada
