自少已知自己沒有繪畫天份，想不到這個事實是我的小學及中學的美術老師"直率"地告知的。曾聽過有調查顯示，年紀愈小的兒童愈樂意展示自己的畫作，但不知為何到了若干年紀，就會羞於把作品展示人前。

不知本人是否面相有異，自問並非搗蛋一族（但一定不是最整潔、最乖的一類），卻最惹美術老師憎惡。作為學業成績尚算中等的學生，我曾有最少兩次在小學及中一給老師以畫紙（即我的美術大作）搓成半團給擲到地上，冷冷一句”你根本無心機畫！”，當時自己還要忍著淚水而固作鎮定地拾回畫紙...

每次跟人談及這件事情，當時自己的臉兒紅赤赤、難堪還歷歷在目。其中中一那次尤為記得，因為很記得那次給人擲棄的作品，正是自己"的起心肝"畫好的一次，當我還期待老師稱讚我有進步之時，
卻想不到落得如此田地。當時還不懂得生老師的氣，只感到"真倒霉"。到長大後回想，就愈想愈氣，感到老師選了最差、最便捷的方法來"教導"我畫畫－－雖然印象中她從來沒有走近過如我這些沒甚畫畫天份的學生，卻很有效地讓我憎厭繪畫和美術課。我還是長大後才明白，原來喜歡畫，不一定要喜歡畫畫，也可以看（欣賞）畫作。不擅畫畫的人也可以喜歡Van Gogh和Manet。

這位老師可能完全忘記了這事，我也不想以"記仇"的方式庫存這段回憶。約10年前曾在巴士上重遇這名老師，當時沒有機會與她閒談，他日若有機會，我想我會盡量把這一次與她有關的不開心經歷和感受告訴她，希望下一代不會再不合理及過早地受傷吧！
