Not to be a buttinsky but it's a dryer cold up north and once you get used to it it isn't all that bad..... Plus we were all a LOT younger back then and youngsters seem to do better with climate extremes for some reason.

Of course even back then it had it's unbearable moments like parking lots that made good ice skating rinks , blinding snow while driving. Snow so deep you had trouble figuring out which mond was your car and which one your buddies. The 60 below overnight when I had to hang the blankets over the windiws to keep the cold from seeping into the room , the freezing rainstorm while I was at Makenzies when I had to run the VW for an hour to melt the ice enough to remove it from the windows just so I could drive into town.... well we all know the drill and of course who needed an ice box or freezer when you had the fourth floor ledge..... ;^)
