we get lots of NY and Vermont handmade cheeses now. last time i was in sugar hill i brought a ton of cheese back. i am thinking of getting goats and wanted to give a go at cheese making. a farm here does very well at it. he is getting $4 for a dozen eggs. i am thinking of getting chickens too. i don't think i would want to sell the eggs for that much.
it is a wonderful world of handmade and local foods. i don't drink but i hear the local wine and beer is very good too. Cooperstown has a few of its own beers.
