Oh I don't doubt that there will be a lot more of this attempt to do an end around on the constitutional right to keep and bear arms by the present congress.
However gun shows already comply with the check system,it's not a loophole unless you are a total gun ban nut,the " brady checks " have been shown to be at best not very well handled and at worst used for something they were not supposed to be used for ( think developing a file on law abiding citizens for example with the anti second amendment people trying to hold records past the time that the law requires , something they would not stand for in any other collection of information by the government but are determined to pursue with law abiding gun owners.
The " no fly list " has been shown to be prone to mis designating a lot of people simply because they have the same or a similar name to a real person who has been shown to be a threat or because the system cannot be purged of incorrect information in any timely manner. As a flawed data base it should only be used ( and with due caution ) for the intended purpose not extended into areas that have little to do with that intention ( though cross checking for known terrorists or agents should be already included in the criminal background check system ) .

As for the " assault weapons ban it did not ban any real assault weapons that were not already bannded by other laws already on the books at the time it was fast tracked thropugh congress for purely political reasons and did nothing to change what previously legal fireams were sold as a simple change on the models specifically mentioned made them no longer subject to the law as written.
Actual assault weapons are fully automatic and only available to the military and law enforcement in this country or can be purchased from illegal gun suppliers who are already subject to prosecution for traffiking in arms that are not permitted or are not sold through legitimate licensed dealers.

Not that this will mean anything to the people determined to pass useless laws for political points of course but the time should be used for more pressing and important things than this stupid useless passage of idiotic bills that really do nothing to address the problem of illegal gun sales or ownership.

None of these laws would have been necaessary had the government been already enforcing the ones already on the books when they were proposed, debated, and passed for purely show and I may add at a great cost to the public inn dollars for the wasted time in congress and all the other gobernment people involved w2hile they were in process or on the books.

Government should stick to what it is supposed to be doing and not keep making dumb photo op decisions for politics not for service to the people.

Oh well it's only wasted money .
