Win: I do recall putting out an appeal for donations way back, but never got any direct response or saw anything on the forum in response to it, so figured that was not the way to ask. Since then, life has just kind of tsunami'ed me along, and now here we are.

If I recall correctly (Steven K could probably recall better) the Charitable Fund wants the fund to have in it the floor amount of $15K. If the fund earns any money, it gets added in, like any investment, and any disbursements correspondingly are deducted. Since we were running so close to the $15K all these years, and we didn't get a whole load of stellar essays, we gave anywhere from 4 to 1 scholarships in the amounts of $250 or 500. This year we gave only one award, as the essays were really not up to snuff. The scholarship committee is still Judy Wallace, Rocky Hoyt and me.

I still would like to hear from more folks about what to do about the reunion account - if anyone would like to take it over, that is fine with me. Doesn't take any work; the account was set up as a non interest bearing account because any interest earned would have had to be reported on someone's tax return, and since there wasn't a 'person' it belonged to, it just seemed simpler to do this way.
