The fund balance as of 3/31/09 was $12,750.53. We gave a scholarship in the amount of $500. So the fund itself is short now by almost $3000.

As far as adjusting the essay parameters, I think the committee (though I haven't polled them) would not want to do that, as it would just chip away at a standard that many have achieved previously. The guidance counselor at Profile even said this class was particularly lacking in some areas, so I personally would like to keep the question as is. Some kids can think creatively, some cannot.

When it comes to donations, if it's a charity that I really want to donate to, and I get an appeal in the mail, it often goes in a pile for consideration - and for me, the actual piece of paper is a prod to write the check. But who would bear the cost of a mailing to the community? I sure can't do it, so it would mean someone stepping up to provide that. I think we all get way too many email appeals for that means to have an impact. I'd put an appeal out on the forum several years ago and think that fell flat. So I'm at a loss at this point of what to do. Any suggestions are welcome.

However, we are still drifting away from the subject of my original posting, which was what to do about the reunion fund. I would like some sense of what the FC community would like to do with that $792.
