Mark, nothing that anyone does excuses anything anyone else does. "So's yer auntie" has never been a very good argument.

Not one person on this earth ever had a gun held to their head and someone told them "Look. Charge that big screen teevee and that Carnival Cruise or we'll kill your ass. Likewise no mortgage broker pulled out a shotgun and said "Sign that mortgage that you can't afford and you can't ever make the payments for but you can jack some other guy up 30 per cent next year so it's all good."

Folks largely brought a lot of present hurt and pain on themselves because of their greed and foolishness and now they're going to get to do their penance.

Unfortunately they now want to drag the rest of us into the turd filled toilet with them.
