I think Krista is right in her statement that it is ultimately Janet's decision to get tested for the Alzheimer's gene. It is Janet's concern wether or not she has the disease because her father had the disease. Her family can offer their advice and/or opinion on genetic testing but it is Janet's decision because it is her genes being tested. Maybe based on Janet's results from the test her siblings or children will want to be tested also. It depends on what the possible patient is comfortable with.
