I completely agree with Marissa that suicide is NOT the answer! I definitely think that it is the family's responsibility to deter Janet from making this horrible mistake. Suffering with the disease would be far better than taking her own life. Janet needs to surround herself with family, friends, and doctors that can help her with this battle. She is only suggesting this drastic measure because she had to watch her own father's physical and mental health diminish. This left a painful, lasting scar. She is trying to protect her family as well. This is good thought but not the way to go about it. The family and doctor's should monitor Janet closely and support her fight as much as possible. The doctor should look for alternative ways to handle the situation in case she really starts to go with the suicide idea. The family and friends Janet has will support, love and protect her from bad decision making.
