Don’t know about Angel snoring but it would just be another example of the whole breathing/smoking/strangling etc inconsistencies that cannot bear close examination.

On a very different note, after Spike was tortured by Glory, Buffy posed as the Buffybot but wouldn't Spike have smelt that Buffy was flesh and blood. Never did understand that.
I guess one could find a workable fan wank in that Spike was beat up pretty badly and perhaps his olfactory senses were compromised. Also, he was not really processing the external world all that effectively due to his injuries.
At the risk of being pedantic, I am sure you understand the underlying emotional reason for the scene playing out as it did. I see this scene as a key turning point in the Buffy/Spike relationship. Spike needed an opportunity to demonstrate his feelings toward Buffy in a manner that Buffy would recognize as sincere and not merely the romantic ravings of a lunatic vampire. She needed to be shown that Spike was honestly concerned for her and Dawn’s welfare, even at the risk of death by torture from Glory. She had to be sure that Spike was revealing his true feelings and intentions, not merely trying to ingratiate himself to Buffy in the pursuit of carnal pleasures. On her way out of the crypt, Buffy notes that the Buffybot was not real but what Spike has done for Buffy and Dawn was and that they would not forget it. From that point on, Buffy’s relationship with Spike took on a qualitatively different feel and was a key in the subsequent Buffy/Spike developments. If one has to overlook the whole “smell” issue to get to this point, it was certainly worth the effort.
