Well if you are at all interested in the mythology of the Buffyverse I don't know how you could pass up the Darla arc starting with To Shanshu in LA (1-22) and ending with Lullaby (3-9). Angel S1 is my least favorite Angel season (too much Monster of the Week) but in terms of pure drama and themes explored, I actually prefer Angel to BtVS (heresy, heresy - please don't burn me at the stake I really do love BtVS). But then Buffy S6 is probably my favorite Buffy season so we obviously are looking for something somewhat different in our Joss fix.
