Oh, I like that interpretation. Of course, I don’t think this is what the writers intended but then who appointed them keepers of the tale? If this were true, it would have made a big part of the Angel-Spike rivalry in season 5 a bit pointless. But I also like that aspect because what could be more delicious than characters furiously contesting something that had absolutely no basis in reality (of course we never did find out if the Shanshu was truthful; tricky things these prophesies). Come to think of it, that seems a lot like my life. Probably, truth be told, like a lot of people’s lives.
