Some major threads of the series have been resolved, and if that was the ending, it was a fantastic conclusion. But I still think, Mal-wise, that Joss deliberately kept the Inara attraction on the back-burner, to be dealt with in later films. It was an undercurrent throughout but seemed to be set-up for exploration in future sequels. Also, now that Mal has struck a truly painful blow to the Alliance (like Angel with the Circle of the Black Thorn), I think we *need* to finally see what happens after you win the battle (or a battle, at least) against your mindbogglingly powerful enemy, which we were denied seeing after the fight in the alley on Angel. I would also personally like to see Zoe's long-term reaction to Wash's death.
