 The surviving shadows, following their "Capture" orders with predictible single-mindedness, chased Dugan into the alley.


Meanwhile, in the Docking Bay...

In one corner of the Bay sat what appeared to be a huge trnasnport ship. In relaity it was a disguised, heavily-armed pirate vessel of the worst kind--a slaver. And it was in the cargo bay of this ship that the shadow carrying Virgil and Lyn rematerialized.

The captain, a fat, balding man in his 40's, was there, along with several sullen-looking people wearing filthy, tattered clothing and silver metal collars firmly cinched around their necks. A crowd of pirates had gathered as well--it was fun watching the Cap'n break the new peoples' spitits...

First two of the pirates quickly serached the unconscious pair, releiving them of any weapons f valuables they may have been carrying. Then one of the slaves--a boy of 10 or 11 who didn't even have shoes--walked up and clasped the collars around their necks. Finally, the Captain nodded to two other crewmen, who dumped full buckets of ice water oion the two to rouse them.

The captain chuckled...this part was always the most fun. "Heh...wakey wakey, kiddies..."
