Hey Cammie, all of my girls have had normal heats except for one. It is hard to tell when Fallon is in heat, she hardly swells at all. All the others have. I did have one prolapse, Candy. This may sound gross, but she was so swollen from day one, you could almost see inside of her. Then, it looked like a large red mass was coming out. It did start small and get larger further into the heat.

With my normal ones, they seem to be in heat for about 21 days. They do kind of hang a little afterwards. Their female parts never looks the same again :) It sounds to me like your dog's heats were normal.
