Here is what I know from experience. Sorry if it seems a litte graphic. The swelling and puffiness is normal. But if the opening gets bigger and you begin to see something that resembles a golf ball or pin pong ball size growth that blocks the opening, that is the beginning stages of Prolapse. it can get bigger and extend further and can really block the opening completely. If it comes out and extends further, then you are in the real deal. Like I said swelling and puffines is normal, anything blocking the opening is prolapse. Tery Magee is planning to post some pictures that show the real thing and a prime example of what to look for. I hope she will do it as everyone should know exactly what to look for. I know it probably seems like I comment on every thing that goes wrong with a Boerboel, But Folks, I think I have had it all happen to me and my dogs. All I can say is RONNIE SWART. If I can help anyone, I promise I will. I just hope to God it doesn't happen to any of you. Ed
