Subject: natural tree dogs?

I was just wondering if there are any Leopard strains that naturally prefer coon over trash. I'm not saying one that will never trash because I believe that would be a perfect dog and I personally don't think perfect tree dogs exist.
I get the opinion,after reading John Wick's book' that most all dogs if just taken out to the woods will sort of pick what they want to run and our job as trainers is to show them what to and what not to chase. I think that's rational BUT, After reading for years on the subject of coon dogs, a lot of people make claims that these NATURALS do exist.
Just give me your opinions and I'll be satisfied. I personally can't help but believe that there are dogs out there that could be selected as breeding stock that could produce pups that tend to prefer our desired game over deer or rabbit or whatever else little cursed animals plague our training endeavors.
