Dave, I would drive the 45 minutes and pretty often. The lake could be a big help if it's of any size at all. Swimming is very good exercise for a dog.:-) Take him out away from the shore and pitch him in. A lot will just try to follow the boat and others will head for the shore. Either way he will get some work. :-)I assume he has done some swimming. Drive the 45 minutes whenever you can and get him in the water. Taking him hunting like you like you told me about on the phone is the way most of us get them and keep them in shape. Our snow is melting and we may be able to get off the highway agin real soon. I have one place where I can get around now, but there are so many lions there that it is hard to hunt it.>:) Lions are "jailbait" here!>:) It is many times easier to get out of a murder rap than running a lion. >:)(I am NOT exaggerating.) At least we have places we can run dogs all year on bobcat and gray fox, as long as we don't have a gun with us. Coyotes are legal too, but I am NOT into that! I believe Dubh has been on a few 'coons. DJ didn't coon hunt a lot, but I have heard him talk about doing some. 45 minutes is not that bad. My regular spots where I summer hunt are at least that far. We drive about an hour and 1/2 often to hunt. Nick has to drive 1 and 1/2 hours to get to my place or to meet me nearby where I go and he does that multiple times a week pretty often.:-)Randy
