I have read the posts concerning the new survey. Seems to me that if we have no standards there is no need for an association, you can just say well this dog is a Leopard Cur whether it is or it isnt. If there is no standards for all dogs there is no model of what a leopard should look like what coloring is acceptable and what there hunting abilities are. Seems that each area of the country has their own ideas as to what is considered a Leopard, and that is why I believe we are not growing like we should, everyone has their own ideas and nobody is on the same page. As far as everything being decided at the world hunt, seems like there is only a small number of members deciding everything. I pay my money to be a member and abide by the so called rules but I have no say in anything as to where this association is going with these dogs. If there is no standards and only acertain group of guys dictate what is going to happen, why be a member of any association. Also everyone thinks it is so easy to go back to the World Hunt, why not hve it some where else where other people get to drive 25 or 30 hours one way to attend. In this day and age votes can be taken via email or the telephone. If you have no breed standards you really dont have a breed of dogs, what you have is a bunch of people saying their dogs are Leopards, which doesnt mean anything. I have talked to people that have seen many so called Leopards and they have said that you line up abunch of dogs and none of them look like the same breed of dog. If you see a Brittany a German Shepard Doxie or a Bluetick or a redbone or any other recognized breed you know what you are looking at. Get the point? I dont need the association to raise and hunt Leopards, I can do as I please, but I am very interested in these dogs and the association, and I abide by the rules as that is being a part of the association. I am not trying to stir trouble but as a member I believe I have no say in anything, as any one that does not attend the World Hunt. Dont believe that is the right way to handle things. I will go on with these dogs whether I am a member or not as I believe there is nothing better than a good Leopard.
