He had taken custody of Emma. Annie loves Emma. Ryan loves Greenlee. Mostly, Ryan loves Ryan. Annie devised a plan that would keep Emma with her and give them something to live on. I don't blame her to not trust the courts to place Emma. If Ryan had actually been with their daughter and not trying to get into Greenlee's pants, he'd still have Emma with him.
