I am responding to the comment about John playing a character on stage. He plays music. I have seen him on many different occasions and he is very open and genuine on stage, not playing a character.

  • i understand your point, but, to me, the path the red hot chili peppers is following today is like a step back when we remember, for example, the californication era, when simplicity was the key. the characters were great in 1989... i love to watch old video tapes with the mother's milk peppers. wild motherfuckers, but the attempt to be keep the old images alive is kinda weird. you know, they're 44 (yes, iggy pop should retire). you can be huge without being u2. when your show creates an atmosphere next to the one common to the u2 performances, you're in serious trouble. sorry for the bad words. i love those guys, but i'd like to know if any of you feel the same about these points.
