Aragorn smiled at the chirping bird, before darting his smokey eyes up to Legolas. His smile grew soft, almost secretive. "Yes. I do not let slaves in here usually, this was a rare occasion even though I could have carried the food myself. No one else comes in here but me." Aragorn smiled up at Legolas. "And now you of course. I always liked roses..." Aragorn ran a finger over a creamy white rose. "And White roses always had a certain appealing quality." He smiled, breaking the rose off right under the sepals and sat it down in the center of the table. "I find roses far more interesting than people expect...A rose is more than a splash of color and a design." Aragorn traced the petals idly. "I remembered once, picking one rose of every color, and handing them to my mother. I thought she would scold me for picking them, but instead she sat me down and explained to me what all the colors meant." Aragorn chuckled, and leaned back in his chair. "A pink rose meant affection..Yet, since the color was light, it also signified friendship. Yellow roses are a symbol joy and a long lasting dream. Lavender," Aragorn paused, his voice slightly quieter as he looked away from Legolas. "Means love at first sight..." Aragorn looked down, not wanting Legolas to see the stain across his cheeks. "Red roses of course, meant love, desire, heart...But a white rose." Aragorn smiled, looking up and chuckling. "A white rose is a symbol of purity, and a love that exceeds all physical bounds. I suppose that's why I loved white roses...I believed love should go on forever, beyond this earth." There was a pause in his speech, and he gave a short half smile. Changing the subject abruptly, Aragorn looked down at his food. "Uh..Shall we eat?"
