Ive just recently purchased a Palm m515 PDA and have not encountered any Hotsynch problems yet...After researching this product over the internet after my purchase I noticed a lot of complaints about Hotsynch malfuntioning after some time. Last night I had a look at the Cradle Adapter (Power Transformer) and noticed an output rating of 5V and a wopping 1ooo mA or 1Amp of juice. Combine this fact with the existing power output of USB in general and the exposed contacts of each power source being so close together on the cradle I can probably guess that in a dry environment static electricity may build up around the Cradle contacts over time. (Think of how lightning develops in a thunderstorm) Add some static build up from walking over a rug etc and I can see why this cradle may have an Static Electicity Buildup problem. A problem that dissappears with the serial cradle (with low existing voltage).

Now this is only a guess but I think this problem can be minimized by unplugging the Adapter (Transformer) from the wall outlet when not in use to eliminate the pooled static electricity around the contacts over time.

Since I am a new owner of a Palm m515 I have to wait and see if this problem occurs dispite my precautionary measures.

Please email me if you have any questions or suggestions about this solution to your problem
