I might be able to shed a little light on how Nick Cenci got hold of the song.

One Saturday night in July 1965, KDKA aired a special program called "Interpop," which may have been something Group W purchased or produced in-house. Locally hosted by Clark Race, it featured clips of purportedly top DJs in other countries introducing hits from around the world. At least that was the conceit. The British DJ was Tony Hall, and the records he introduced were "Strong Love" by Spencer Davis Group and "Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere" by The Who.

There was a South African DJ who featured a record by a local group called the Staccatos (obviously no relation to the Canadian group of the same name), and this was the song. Cenci may have been listening and trolling for material that night.
