WPEZ brings back a lot of great memories through my high school days. Of course I'll be always be partial to 13Q because of the culture the station created when the first went on the air and through their heyday with the music and personalities. Buzz Brindle was kind of a childhood hero to me.

WPEZ made for a lot great summer cruising tunes, adds to my record collection, and some cool listening through summer vacation at home.

The last I remembered from of WPEZ is the day I left Beaver County on my way to Texas. Later I found out they flipped to 3WS when some friends of mine moved down to Texas and gave me the heads up.

Now does someone remember the day Philadelphia Freedom made it's debut on Pittsburgh's airwaves? I'm thinking it was PEZ who played it first. That was a wild day in High School. Everyone who was at lunch wouldn't leave the cafeteria area even though the bell rung to get to your next class. We just stayed and listened to the radio.

Seventies radio in Pittsburgh, in my opinion, was the best just because of the cool music and great personalities on the air back then.
