Both starting pitchers were outstanding in last night's contest between Harvard and Columbia. but Columbia was able to win the game against Harvard's relief pitcher on some very clutch hitting and smart base running. I had assumed that the winner of whoever Columbia plays in game 2 today is the outright winner and that Columbia, should it lose, would get a second crack at it. I think that double elimination only means that no team is disqualified until it loses twice. So Penn is out and whoever wins game one moves on while the loser is out. Have you noticed the improvement in the pitching staff during the last month. Santana had a great game against Harvard and the entire bullpen has improved remarkably.
