I believe you have totally missed the point of Mr. WrightS article. (The capital "S" is to bring you up to the point of semantics if you wish to go there. His name is Wrights.)
No libertarian that I know of has anything against free trade and free enterprise or the protection thereof. However, over and over again, since at least the first world war, our government has found pockets of the planet in which we can work the insideous plan of taking over their culture instead of just saying, out-right, "You have something I want. How much will you sell it to me for?"
If a bargain is stuck, both go away satisfied.
Instead, our government has aided, armed, and trained, such people as the Taliban. The CIA, our Ambassadors, and Congress and Presidents have handed out candy with one hand and expected unfaltering allegiance with the other for decades. They never cared in any country where they did this, from Central America to Africa, to Afghanistan, about the common people who lived there and believed in our help until they saw it had strings. The ultimate idiocy in all this is that in our own nation of educated, savy people there are some like you who cannot see it either.
