The article "Why do THEY hate US", by Mr Wright makes only partial sense to me. I have questions.
Mr Wright said, "they hate your government because the President and Congress, whichever flavor is in season this year, cannot keep their collective nose out of everybody else's business. American politicians for decades have deluded themselves into believing that not only do they know what is best for you and I; but moreover, they are convinced they know what is best for the rest of the world as well."
Which particular situations, events, or occupations does he have for evidence to back up that statement. I'm not trying to be antagonistic but for the genuine reason for wanting to understand more of his point.
I know of many nations that do indeed get swept up in our hurricane of trade we call free enterprise. Which of the nations in the world are hindered and/or burdened directly by the hands of the US government? And how? And if so, what is the US interest in it? For exmple, I'm under the guise that the US military fought the Gulf War against Iraq to protect our oil interests and our allies in the middle east.
What other nations does the US have their nose in? Why? And is it possible Mr. Wright's not looking at the simple incompatibilities between different economic systems? If so, who do we blame for that Mr. Wright?
For the author, Mr Wright to be convincing to me, he must provide a specific US government occupation/intrusion of a foreign nation and his motive for why the US is/was there.
His article simply comes off as some more rubbish from the "Blame America first" crowd that is generally more anti-free market than any clear thinking sovereign libertarian I know.
Mr Wright is quick to point out that , "... the talking heads and political pundits "gave" us "the" answer hand-crafted and handed down from the slickest spin doctors on Capitol Hill."
To be honest, that's the only logical and evidential answer I've heard yet. I'm always quick to distrust the federal government, but c'mon, if Mr. Wright has such strong opposition I'd certainly appreciate he finish his lesson for the day rather than publish an unfinished opinion piece with about as much substance as Dan Rather's evening pinko report. Talk about spin.
I am interested to here more. I can be convinced.
'nuff said.
