Subject: Well, I would agee that the basic soap formula is very much intact it's just that, like TK, said, has much shorter overall story archs. I like more umbrella type stories where the characters are all integral but I think budget reductions has sliced into that and now we seem to have more characters isolated in their own bubbles more than what used to be. I also think the twists come more often and turn harder than they used to. I think there is more emphasis on shock value and the payoffs just don't come often enough. But as a hole, it's all still very much SOAP.
