Date Posted: 23:17:43 07/05/05 Tue As slow as the sales here seemed to be these days, he had no other option and that reality weighed his heart down considerably as the truck and trailer purred up the road. A shame, it was, to sell her. A damn shame, but a necessity he could not avoid as he pulled the vehicle and trailer off the road to circle around the sales area until he brought the trailer to rest in the shade. But as much as he needed the quick cash and the horse-free freedom to leave this place and tend to his life, the mare would only go to a good home. Nope, she was far too good a creature to send off to an owner who would not use her as she should be used. As much as he would brag about the mare's qualities, the little dappled grey that stepped off the trailer was far from a sleek and refined beauty one might expect to shape a "good" horse. A little rugged in the features set a solid frame, the mare nevertheless was not to be overlooked in a crowd of her high-blooded fellows. Not with the bright eyes, the sharp attention of her ears, and something sunny about her disposition as she willingly followed her handler's lead around to the side of the trailer. Afterall, new surroundings were nothing to fret over! Not with the comforting scent of horses lingering here and not with the bold confidence the mare had been born with. Whiffling curiously at the rope as she was securely tied, the mare twisted her ears about to take in the morning's melody and dark eyes roamed the lot as if looking for tomorrow's bright future. Fortune in Silver "Fortune" Missouri Fox Trotter mare 5 years old Started under Western saddle, has many trail miles considering her young age, learning to neck rein though could easily be adjusted to English saddle if desired. May even enjoy the new experience of low-level jumping. Sound, healthy, good feet and lively gaits. Natural foxtrot. Not prone to flightiness, though is still young so likely to show a spook or two from time to time. Intelligent, quick to learn, level-headed, with more miles under her girth she would make a suitable childrens' mount though has pep enough to be an enjoyable ride for the more experienced. Not eager to accept a bit, but offers no aggressive resistence. asking $5,000 [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
