There is a Garton Road near Woolston railway station and it looks as if our house was called Garton House at or around the time that it was a nurses home. It looks as if the house was the headquarters of the Southampton Nursing Association, certainly in 1939.This is prior to the National Health Service and familes could get nursing cover for a premium of one old penny per week.
