Has anyone worked with Paul Keith before? -- me, 26/05/07 12:58 [2]
I'm looking at getting a pre-cut dress by Paul Keith and I'm wondering if anyone on here has done the same thing. How did the dress turn out? Was he easy to work with? Was the fit ok? And did you see the same design and colors at different feiseanna? Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Help save the Hill of Tara from development! -- Concerned Irish Dancer, 28/07/07 11:41 [1]
Please sign the online petition to save grounds of Tara! Visit: http://www.petitiononline.com/Temair/petition.html . People from any country can sign!
Here's what the petition says:
"To: An Taoiseach, The Irish Prime Minister
I wish to protest the planned M3 motorway through the ancient grounds of Tara. As you are aware, expert archaeologists in Ireland and internationally have pointed out that Tara is not just constituted by the actual hill, but also by the surrounding landscape, which is extraordinarily rich in archaeological monuments. This is precisely the area the planned M3 will cut through, only 1 km from the hill itself.
You are also no doubt aware that the Tara landscape is recognised as a site of not only Irish, but world importance. In particular, it holds a significant place in European cultural heritage. I therefore believe that the Irish Government has a duty to act as the respectful custodian of Tara, and all other ancient Irish archaeological sites, and to protect them for posterity and for the appreciation of present and future citizens of not just Ireland, but of all the world.
I ask you to personally intervene in this issue, and to see to it that one of the alternative routes available for the M3 motorway is chosen instead. I ask you to ensure that Tara remains completely undisturbed and that it is treated with the respect due to both a national and international cultural treasure, "
Thank you for your help!

nsw solstice -- vic symons, 29/06/05 15:13 [8]
I cant understand why dancers, teachers, and parents tolerate very widely differing results for kids. One little boys results varied from 1st to 12th.The winter solstice was a classic example. These kids train every day. They deserve better, as do all involved.
Time to stand up.
Frustrated parent.

- so you think because your child got first once or twice then they always deserve first? the judges all have different things they look for, maybe a child makes a mistake but only one judge catches it at the time. it's all subjective. teach your child good sportsmanship and it wont be an issue. (NT) -- over peoples whinging, 29/06/05 15:33
- Lets give everyone first place! Then everyone will be happy & everyones hard work will pay off. You wouldnt want a "bad" result to be a motivator to get you to work harder or to prove to you that other people are better then you. You're not even the one dancing...stop trying to live vicariously through your child & let us do our dancing (NT) -- Get Over It! U parents always have something 2 whinge about!, 29/06/05 16:57
- Wow, get over it! I'm usually not that blunt, but come on...you can't expect every judge to have the same criteria, can you? DD nearly always places 1st/2nd with a certain female judge but more than likely 8th/9th with another. Take the good with the bad!! (NT) -- momof5, 6/08/05 1:33
- I like the following judging method: Five judges and each dancer's top score and bottom score is removed and the remaining three scores are used to work out the placings. It helps eliminate the way out scores. Eg. When a competitor gets given 2nd, 3rd and 38th - as happens on occassions. (NT) -- Just a thought., 29/09/05 20:31
- I know how you feel and sympathize with you. When you have missed out on winning the nationals because of a way out placing you know how it feels. Not once, but twice!! (NT) -- Ignore those other rude replies., 29/09/05 20:38

Rocking your body -- dancer, 19:58:42 09/23/06 Sat [1]
Does it matter if your upper body moves when you dance because some girls move their upper body and place well while other girls have their upper body straight with no movement. What do the judges think? Of upper body movement

- I think the judges go on technique mostly, but you have to also look the part- though that doesnt mean pretty,it just means presentation. However, i do think it an uncanny coincidence, that many of the great dancers in all sections happen to be quite beautiful. Thats just God not sharing the talents evenly! (NT) -- Dancr, 20/07/05 8:42
- That's absolutely silly. There's a few dancers at our school who are actually involved with a few modeling agencies (one is 5'10, the other 5'11 and both GORGEOUS). Each has had many different feiseanna in which neither brings home a trophy.. (NT) -- momof5, 6/08/05 1:29
- I reckon that they dont pay much attention to ow you look but they would pick up general clues cause if you are seriouse about your dancing you aen't going to were a really old fashioned dress and hair out are you? (NT) -- dancer, 28/12/06 10:42
